A THOUGHT FOR CHRISTMAS

Fairy lights on a Christmas tree

Reflect a child’s smile,

Joy and laughter in his eyes,

Let’s sit and dream awhile.

Dancing snowflakes from above,

Glistening, tinsel bright,

Tinkling sleigh bells, carol song,

Let’s sit and think this night

Of other folks, some far away,

Who will not know the love

That all around us wraps it’s arms

From God in Heaven above.

For fighting knows no Christmas time

And war no sweet refrain

And loneliness won’t bow it’s head,

No ease for age long pain.

So as the daylight fades away,

Before the fire curled,

Let’s sit and ponder, pray awhile

For peace throughout the world.

Let all of us know Christmas,

The love, the hope, the cheer

And celebrate this wond’rous time

With joy and not with fear.
