Lynne was a truly wonderful friend.  I think about her often and of the times we have shared.
We met through 'Free Spirit' posting list which was sent out to members after the death of John Denver  - so that fans could remain in contact with like minded people.
Lynne rang me up one Sunday afternoon and after chatting for a while decided to meet up. She came to my house in Coventry, we jelled in friendship immediately, watching videos and concerts of John which she had not seen, a time both of tears and joy. It was as if we had known each other for years.
We joined the Friends of John Denver and it opened up a whole new group of friends  - which meant so much to both of us.

Lynne at this time had not MS, it was around the time to our first trip to Aspen in 2000 that something was wrong and she had tests done to try and find the problem. on her return MS was diagnosed.

On our trip we shared a room, Lynne, my sister Julia and myself. we had a wonderful time meeting new friends, seeing how beautiful Colorado was and how John had been inspired to write so many lovley songs - and we sang all the time.
Our friendship grew, we spent many happy times together, including going to Denver Days, concerts and family gatherings.
I miss her friendship but she lives in my heart forever.
On one occassion when Lynne was feeling down I wrote a poem for her, she liked it and I would like to share it now.

 Love,
Irene

As an avid and lifelong fan of the late John Denver, I really enjoyed your webpage and all the lovely poetry, and it goes without saying  that your mum must have been a fantastic person, and although I didn't know her personally, I feel as though I could relate to her thoughts and feelings through her poems, just like I do when I hear John Denvers music.

Just to let you know Ben, that you will never be alone whilst you have all your family, friends and all the "Friends Of John Denver" members, deep within our thoughts.

I only knew Lynne for a relativley short while but in such time I think we became very good friends. Perhaps our love for music and poetry gave us much to share and talk about. Lynne used to send me her poems and I used to send her my newest songs, which I believe she came to know better than I did. It's no secret that if I ever forgot my words during a perfomance I would only have to look at Lynne and she would cue me right back in. I personally have been absent from the get-togethers since her passing, but when I return I believe although her physical presence shall be missed her spirit shall be felt. Her memory is etched in in my heart.
Congratulations Ben for setting up the website and sharing your Mum's work.
Best wishes to you, your Dad and brother.
